Bug Description
Compared ubiquity to the d-i based textmode-installer (used by the former alternate installer and the MinimalCD) we have no possibility to change the defaults of partman-crypto.
The textmode-installer offers following additional preferences:
- Encryption cipher
- Key size
- IV algorithm

There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates.
