Installation fails after grub-install. Is a fresh install of Ubuntu, no other OS'es installed

In the meantime i've created the partitions manually via gparted, and after that the installer could continue. This does not mean the issue is fixed, since we should not expect novice users to create the partitions manually. Still, maybe it's best to close this issue for now?
