desktop install hangs at 96%

Binary package hint: ubiquity

Current gutsy desktop CD ubiquity hangs at 96% (no status text in the dialog). I used default options, English, etc.

Surprisingly enough the install works when I downgrade apt and python-apt to the feisty version on the live system before starting ubiquity.

Reassigning back to ubiquity as after due consideration I think this is better fixed there, despite it having been broken by a change in apt.

ubiquity (1.5.7) gutsy; urgency=low

  * Run apt's DoInstall() method with stdin redirected from /dev/null, to
    stop it hijacking the debconf protocol (LP: #130843).
  * Automatic update of included source packages: apt-setup 1:0.21ubuntu2,
    base-installer 1.81ubuntu1, partman-auto 69ubuntu5.

This bug has nothing to do with gnome-terminal. Rejecting bogus task.
