just the standard whle disk auto option with encryption. crashed again.
will try now without encryption.

can you specify what SSD this is? (model and size)
also, does it affect other distros and architextures? rather than just ubuntu-GNOME AMD64

Can you also please check the id of your Samsung SSD by typing lspci -vvnn | grep 144d:
