Bug Description

The installation of a dm-crypted system with a partition setup as below crashes when installing in VBox as on a Dell Latitude E4300.

unencrpyted:
250 MB ext4 as /boot
encrypted:
12 GB btrfs as /
8 GB as SWAP
80 GB as /home
unencrypted:
150 GB ext4

Seems as the installer is crashing when trying to do the partitioning in the background (shortly after choice of location).

The installation with settings as listed in initial report works flawless with the alternate installer of Lubuntu 13.04. (I want my installer back!)

Might affect 12.10 too, as 13.04 is veeery young.

I'm not sure this is actually related to the fact that the partitions are encrypted, so much as having a separate partitions for /home partitioned as btrfs. I'm running into an almost identical problem, but not encrypted.

One must have "/boot" unecrypted (something like 200MB ext4 should be plenty).
The fact that manual partitioning is allowing you to start installation is worrying as the underlying partman has safety check to check that there is a /boot setup, when required.
