Bug Description
Using a usb-live-stick I try to install Lubuntu 12.10 (final) on my laptop and the following issue occurs:
After starting ubiquity, the installer hangs forever after the "preparing install" screen.
When hitting "continue" there is some usb-stick activity and some hard-disk activity and than nothing else happens.
I stopped ubiquity using the quit button.
Expected behavior: Provide choice about where to install ubuntu
Further remarks:
My system: Samsung x20, laptop with intel centrino platform.
Live-system is running fine, including gparted, fdisk, sfdisk, grub
I checked the usb-stick, before starting the system.
One hard-disk, no raid, WinXP, Ubuntu 11.04, Ubuntu 12.04 already installed.
In the past I had already problems to install on this laptop, with the live-installer. In the past I just used alternate installer which worked just fine. I am reporting this bug since the alternate disk is not available, now - so I would really like to see this issue fixed.
I started ubiquity in debug mode. log-files will be attached.
Please let me know if I can provide additional information.

Not sure, where I read that there is no alternate disk for Lubuntu 12.10. I found the disk image and could install just fine using the alternate image. Using alternate provides a workaround. Not sure what are the differences between alternate and live-installer.
Nevertheless the reported issue is valid:
This is a very common Samsung laptop with Intel Centrino platform and standard hard disk.
Dual-boot with Windows - Nothing special, nothing fancy.
It would be great if Ubiquity could "just work" on this type of hardware.
Just drop a line if I can provide additional information.
