Bug Description
Ubuntu 12.10
In usability testing, two of three participants were uncertain that their chosen wi-fi connection had actually connected.
For example, P3: “It should provide a message for the Internet, as I’m not sure whether I managed to connect to it or not.”
Probably we should add some visible confirmation that you really are connected to the Internet.

Five years later, I just experienced this problem myself when installing 17.10: I couldn’t tell whether the connection had worked.
