Kubuntu does not automatically install my printer Canon MP280

In previous versions, when connecting for the first time my Canon MP280 printer, kubuntu notification shows "Printer detected" then "Ready".

now in Kubuntu 12.10, no notifications appear, kubuntu do not install the printer.

to install the printer using the printer manager, printer does not work, always with the inactive state.

installing the printer using CUPS, http://localhost:631, the printer works!!.

summary:
No notifications to connect the printer
no automatic installation.
Installation with Printer Manager does not work.

this problem also affects to Ubuntu 12.10 but only in the detection, the driver works fine with printer manager of Ubuntu 12.10

There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. If you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running only once:
apport-collect https://api.launchpad.net/1.0/bugs/1065636

and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.
