ubuntu installer got stuck in while setting the time-zone

Bug Description

Binary package hint: base-installer

Ubuntu desktop edtion 6.10

Compaq Deskpro Pentium III

Put the cd in the PC
Boot the system.
doubleclick the install icon.
Go through the installation.
Set the time-zone to Amsterdam.
Set the time back bij 2 hours

Wait for 30-45 minutes (don't do anything)

The installer will no longer respond.

It is still possible to reboot the system using the ubuntu linux operating system.

Installing Ubuntu on the same machine but imidiately contiuneing to the next step (step 3)
of the installation works fine.
