unable to install grub in a partition

trying to install grub into /dev/sda3, ubiquity fails:

$ cat grubRizlOs

What version of Ubuntu were you using back then? Were you able to install grub after all?

looking at the submission date, that was edgy

Are you able to reproduce this issue with a later version of Ubuntu? Edgy is not supported anymore.
