"Installer has crashed". Sept 13 build of Lubuntu 12.10 with special postinst file in place.

Attempted a full disk install of Lubuntu 12.10 (Sept 13 2012 build) from Live CD. A test was being conducted at the time of a post install yaboot file replacing /usr/lib/ubiquity/yaboot-install/yaboot-install. I had renamed the existing file in that directory, and replaced it with one provided by ojordan.

The original problem, reported as bug 1043066 was a failure of the bootloader with a bootable external USB drive (Mac OS X) plugged in. That problem went away when I unplugged the external USB drive and re-installed.

substituted the yaboot-install with the revised postinst file (renamed it to yaboot-install, and attempted installation from the live disk. All looked normal until near the end of the install, but then the installer crashed.

eMac G4 (1.25 Ghz) - 4 gig RAM - 80 Gig hard drive.

Okay Ron, thanks for testing. That's the file you changed causing the problem so I'm marking this bug as invalid.
