Bug Description

[impact]
This package above contains updated screenshots and a very minor fix in media.html file.
The translations shall remain the same, as the strings have not been modified.

Formerly we wanted to update them for 14.04, but we had no time and we let it pass, so the reason behind this UIFe is that we got the LTS approval after the UI Freeze (as far as I'm concerned) and we wanted to provide updated slideshows.

[Test Case]
Look at the slideshow in the installer and check the new images are used.

[Regression Potentional]
None, We are regressing here by showing old screenshots, these were meant to land before 14.04 released. But now it is paramount these are updated for 14.04.1 release!

No objections from a docs POV.

In the attached ubuntu-gnome.tar.gz I see that the screenshots »welcome.jpg« and »gethelp.jpg« are nearly the same, only with a slightly different color. Is this intentionally?

Alfredo Hernández (aldomann) wrote :

Absolutely yes, Carsten. It's some kind of interpretation of the Adwaita wallpaper, bright when you start (day wallpaper) and dark when the slides are finished (night wallpaper).

Burhani: I believe your change will break all translations, and thus is not appropriate. Also, in future, please submit merge proposals against upstream branches (lp:ubiquity-slideshow-ubuntu in this case).

Dmitry Shachnev (mitya57) wrote :

Tim: did you actually propose a merge for your branch so that the slideshow team (i.e. Stéphane) can review it?

Also, I believe the branch linked and the bug status are wrong, changing it back.

Burhani: Most Ubuntu-specific packages are maintained in Bzr. In this case, it is lp:ubiquity-slideshow-ubuntu. If you want to get a change into that branch, you should push your code into a branch named lp:~USERNAME/ubiquity-slideshow-ubuntu/BRANCHNAME, and then use a Launchpad web interface to file a merge proposal. See <https://dev.launchpad.net/UsingMergeProposals>.
