On the 20130211 Edubuntu amd64 daily build, attempting to advance the installation slideshow beyond the first slide fails

Thanks for taking the time to report this, Stephen. I believe that build uses version 66, in which case this is intentional: the Edubuntu slideshow only contains one slide at the moment. I am fixing the bug that made this look like a problem, though :)
