Bug Description

Binary package hint: tvtime

I used tvtime a lot in the past. Now I would like to use it again, but no luck, if I start it within a terminal, I can see the window of tvtime for a short moment then it exits and I see this as the stdout of tvtime in the terminal:

[...]
videoinput: Using video4linux2 driver 'saa7134', card 'Terratec Cinergy 400 TV' (bus PCI:0000:05:08.0).
[...]
Found "USB Device 0x46d:0x8da : USB Audio (hw:2,0)"
xcommon: Received a map, marking window as visible (59).
xcommon: Pixel aspect ratio 1:1.
xcommon: Displaying in a 768x576 window inside 768x576 space.
Channels count non available

That's odd, since that USB device is my web camera. I don't want to do _anything_ with my webcam with tvtime, I only want to use my tv tuner card, which is detected well (and it works with xawtv). I guess this is a bug that for some reason tvtime want to do something with my webcam instead of my PCI based TV tuner card.

Btw, I've just "apt-get source"'ed tvtime. I've just grep'ed for that "Channels count non available" string, and I found only once place: debian/patches/tvtime-1.0.2-alsa.patch

It seems this message (and check) does not exists in upstream, so I guess this patch is wrong and should not be used at all. However my tries failed to rebuild the package without this patch for some reason.

Oh, and forgot to mention, that patch mentioned bug 340769 in LP ... So I guess it was done to fix a problem but it seems it introduced another.
