Irregular mosaic effect cause crash

When applying irregular mosaic in a picture, some times tuxpaint crash
and terminal says:

num_unknowns 1
tpDT, 57
Valid tpDT
template =
(segmentation fault) (core dumped)

It seems that the issue has been knonw in tuxpaint-dev list from August 2014

so either code has been changed a lot last two years or there is a later version fixing that.

Well it seems that Pere Pujal Carabantes (one of the main developers) proposes an ad-hoc solution for the time being:

That's from 2016-04-04 so i guess that bug must be solved upstream first?
