I was just visiting tamil sites. I just found a problem in rendering sha letter across all applications(
Installing the tamil language pack and restarting the m/c, didnt solve the issue in lohit tamil font.
Since lohit tamil font is available in "ttf-indic-
Attached screen shot which has "sha" collapsed with previous letters.
Steps:
1. Make sure you use lohit tamil font in the application you use
2. Then type ka+sha (phonetic input) in that application
3. "sha" letter will merge with "ka"
4. OR visit this link in browser which uses lohit tamil font "http://
Expected Behaviour:
"Sha" should not get merged with previous letter "ka"

I am not sure about this issue in UPSTREAM of the package ttf-indic-fonts. So changed the status to "opinoin" for upstream alone. But this issue is reproducible consistently in UBUNTU 11.04
