Bug Description

Binary package hint: tsclient

When I check the additional option "use alternate full screen switch (-F)" I get an connection error. However, when I view the details, I see that for rdesktop the switch should be "-f" instead of "-F". I was trying to use this because the "Ctrl-Alt-Enter" doesn't work for me in full screen mode. Any help would be appreciated!

Do you have compiz running?

“I found a way how to enable “exit fullscreen” key combination for rdesktop when compiz is active. It was in “compiz setting manager”. There is plugin - “Workarounds”, which was enabled in my case. Among settings of this plugin there is option - “Legacy Fullscreen support”. It was enabled, and when I disabled it fullscreen in rdesktop began to work properly, that is, pressing “CTRL ALT ENTER” exits/enters fullscreen mode. Since tsclient uses rdesktop when it connects to windows hosts, this should work for it too.”

Let me know if this works.

No, I am not using Compiz. Can you duplicate my results with the -F
instead of -f option in the Terminal Server Client?

Ruben,

I have just confirmed your bug.

I can connect full screen without using the alternate box, and my alt ctl enter does make it fullscreen, but when i attempt to connect fullscreen WITH the alternate option checked off it does fail to connect.

To further confirm and validate your initial thoughts, I can connect using rdesktop -f from the command line.

Thank you for this bug report.

Thank you for reporting this bug. tsclient has been removed from the Ubuntu 11.10 archives. The software has not had a new release in years and was no longer being maintained. Unfortunately that means this bug won't be fixed.
