Bug Description
The kernel reports the following error:
Sep 4 17:35:35 host kernel: [ 0.179743] ACPI Warning: Incorrect checksum in table [TCPA] - 0x53, should be 0xF7 (20100428/
it has corresponding entry reported earlier by kernel:
Sep 4 17:35:35 dwork1n kernel: [ 0.000000] ACPI: TCPA dfe5d700 00032 (v01 00000000 ASL 00000000)
All header files in my computer's /usr/include/tss directory contain "^M" entries that are hightlighted by nano editor. For example:
GNU nano 2.2.2 File: tss_typedef.h
/*++^M
^M
Global typedefs for TSS^M
^M
*/^M
^M
#ifndef __TSS_TYPEDEF_H__^M
#define __TSS_TYPEDEF_H__^M
^M
#include <tss/platform.h>^M
^M
//-----
// definitions for TSS Service Provider (TSP)^M
//^M
typedef UINT32 TSS_HANDLE;^M
Other files in /usr/include do not have have anything marked by "^M". I am not very good C++ programmer, but I suspect this is the cause of the error reported by ACPI error reported by the kernel, and I am marking it as a security bug.
Please see the attached screenshot for color picture, let me know if you need additional information or that I am mistaken.
