Bug Description

Transmission 2.33-0Ubuntu2 takes quite some time to start when first launched. The current transmission (version 2.13) in Ubuntu 11.04 starts much faster.

No crash report is generated and starting Transmission the second time is faster. I'm not sure whether the new version of Transmission is doing something in the background that the current version is not or whether it indeed is a bug.

For me, every time I try to start Transmission, it takes up to several minutes but then works fine. In System Monitor (during the initial delay) the process 'transmission-gtk' has Status 'Sleeping' and Waiting Channel 'hrtimer-nanosleep'. Looks like its just taking a nap =)

I tried to track the process, but I couldn't get any information. I tried the command:
rm -r .cache/transmission .config/transmission

still doesn't solve the problem. I purged the application and reinstalled it several times with no luck.

I use ubuntu 12.04 system updated.

Just to clear things up, it starts but it takes time.

Little update.
Unchecking the Upnp box in nework options, the client starts like a charm.
So, this issue maybe upnp related, because if i activate Upnp port forwarding in Transmission, the chient doesn't starts and when it finally comes up, the port is closed on the router and never will be open by upnp.
