Bug Description

Binary package hint: transmission

A list of changes since 1.73-1:

transmission (1.73-5) unstable; urgency=low

  * debian/rules: patch before configure
  * debian/patches: add patch to not build libevent, regardless of
    linking (really, really closes: #537868)
  * debian/changelog: fix dates

transmission (1.73-4) unstable; urgency=low

  * debian/patches: oops, hadn't seen the libnatpmp part of the
    problem... (really closes: #537868)

 -- Leo Costela <email address hidden> Thu, 23 Jul 2009 13:10:47 +0200

transmission (1.73-3) unstable; urgency=low

  * debian/patches/series: actually add the patch to make the qt
    version use the system-wide libevent. (closes: #537868)

 -- Leo Costela <email address hidden> Thu, 23 Jul 2009 11:33:32 +0200

transmission (1.73-2) unstable; urgency=low

  * debian/{rules,control,transmission-qt.*}: build Qt client in
    transmission-qt (closes: #528074)

All changes from 1.73-1ubuntu1 are still in place, additionally I've added lsb-release to Build-Depends because of the following reasons:
  - Based on buildd log from last build lsb-release is pulled by builders anyway (check for example build log from https://edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/transmission/1.73-1ubuntu1/+build/1137343)
  - Without it miniupnp uses Debian and squeeze/sid as OS_NAME and OS_VERSION which isn't true in our case
  - Also, there are two bugs related to sed if /etc/debian_version is used instead of result of lsb_release.

Marking as "In Progress" as I've found a bug in package and sent report to debian maintainer. Waiting for his answer. Uploaded suggested fix to linked branch.

Please list the changes that remain between Debian and Ubuntu. I personally prefer everything to be listed in the new changelog entry, rather than referring to a previous entry for things that have changed. You will notice that when other packages are merged, everything that is a change relative to Debian is noted, even if a merge of a package is done three times in one week.

Thanks for your comment, I've pushed modified changelog to the branch.

Hi Krzysztof, could you tag these upgrade bugs for desktop packages with the "desktop-upgrade" tag in future? The reason for this is because we're currently using this tool for claiming work in the desktop team: http://people.canonical.com/~seb128/versions.html

When you add this tag, the bug number will appear in the relevant row on that page, so we know that someone already opened a bug report to request the update. Also, when you assign to the bug to yourself, it appears on that page as assigned so that we know someone else is already working on it.

I've added the tag to this bug for you.

Thanks:)
