Binary package hint: transmission

I've been running the standard Jaunty released transmission, but wanted to try something a little bit more cutting edge. So I added the PPA to my sources.list, upgraded transmission and... it didn't start anymore.

Error message (translated from Dutch):

transmission: session.c:691: tr_sessionInitImpl: Controletest 'found' faalt. (faalt=fails)
Afgebroken (don't know good translation... broken off?)

Did something go wrong during my upgrade, or is this a known bug?

Well, yes - it isn't package from main ubuntu repository. From what
PPA did you install it? If you can reproduce it we could try to do
something with it anyway. Check if you can install transmission-dbg or
transmission-gtk-dbg package. If you can then use instructions from
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace to generate backtrace.

I tried the latest stable PPA (deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/transmissionbt/ppa/ubuntu jaunty main) and the nightly build PPA
(deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/transmissionbt-nightly/ubuntu jaunty main) but except for a difference in line number, the error is the same.

Before I go into heavy debugging I'm going to try my luck on the Transmission bugtracker.

Found solutiong: purged old ubuntu transmission packages, removed ~/.transmission and ~/.config/transmission, installed new package from transmission latest stable PPA, restored settings to ~/.config/transmission: GUI works, torrents restored.
