Bug Description

After fiddling around with transmission the screen it goes blank (resizing etc..) . Could also due to compiz or nvidia driver. But I do not experience these problems with other programs.

I have the same problem, and i don't run any nvidia driver may be due to compiz (no screen effect on the system)

Since this has been nominated for a release, here is a backport to 1.34 of the upstream fix that's in 1.40.

It's been nominated for Hardy but has not been accepted. Waiting for the fix in 1.40 with Jaunty should be fine; I don't think this would qualify for a Hardy SRU - https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates .
