Computer freezes when Transmission is running and screensaver is enabled

Happens only when Transmission is running.

Transmission is running. I leave computer for a few minutes. Screensaver runs over Transmission. Screensaver works fine. When moving mouse to disable screensaver the screensaver freezes. I expected the desktop to appear but instead it freezes the screensaver.

To be honest, the realease of Hardy Heron has been such a dissappointmet
that I switched that laptop to Windows. Too many bugs. Cantplay DVDs.
Cant Rip CDs. Just too much to bother with. I don't have time to spend 2
hours a day troubleshooting a machine that isn't mine. I thank you for
you response but it is too little too late. Don't take that personally
either please. I understand you would like to help but honestly I wish
this offer was made sooner.
