Bug Description

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open Transmission Remote GUI via the Dash.
2. Wait for main window to open.
3. Switch to another window, e.g. Chrome.
4. Attempt to Alt+Tab back to Transmission Remote GUI, or click its Dash icon.

Expected behaviour: the Transmission Remote GUI main window appears and can be used.

Actual behaviour: the main window appears briefly, then undergoes minimise animation into the Dash icon. Subsequent attempts to restore the window (both via Alt+Tab and via clicking the Dash icon) result in the same minimising behaviour.

Additionally, right-clicking the Dash icon and selecting "Quit" does not cause Transmission Remote GUI to quit. It is necessary to "killall transgui" and then restart it to re-attain access to the main window--albeit temporarily before the same problem re-occurs.

Hello. Can you please test the newest version available in Debian testing and see if the problem still occurs?
You can download the package from here: http://packages.debian.org/jessie/transgui

This problem is not apparent so far in version 5.0:

What is the procedure for making this version available in the Ubuntu Saucy repository?

I would probably have to locate the change that fixed the issue in the upstream source and apply a patch to the version allready in saucy. As a rule new versions aren't introduced into released versions of Ubuntu.

I'll look in to it as soon as I can find the time. Thanks for testing.

I'm sorry to report that this problem persists, even with the newest version available in Debian Testing.

Maybe it's a Unity issue of some sort?

Yes, it's probably unity-related. At least I can not recreate this issue with Gnome shell on Debian. Did you try with a clean config (delete/rename/move the ~/.config/Transmission\ Remote\ Gui/ folder? Also could you please try checking and/or unchecking the minimize to tray option?
