Bug Description

Binary package hint: tracker

Hello,
I am running an updated version of Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat 32-bit, & I have recently had issues with Meta-Tracker 0.8.17. I expected the D-bus system to respond to tracker, but all I've got was segfaults when editing the tags. I currently have multiple different ways I have observed the same bug (or possibly three different ones) affecting the system. First off, when I right-click "Properties from the context menu on a file in Nautilus, I receive the following error (there is a "tag" tab on the window that pops up, which is what is calling tracker & Tracker isn't responding to the D-Bus which is attempting to communicate with Tracker possibly from Nautilus or the tag input).:

"Message did not receive a reply (timeout by message bus)"

NOTE: There is a screenshot of this bug & all the others attached.
I also reveived the same error message after attempting to add a tag from the "Tags" tab in Nautilus. Attempting to enter into the terminal the commands for listing all of the tags on every file, I get a CLI-based error of the same exact thing. To receive it I simply typed:

"tracker-tag -t"
and then got:
"Could not get all tags, Message did not receive a reply (timeout by message bus)"

Interestingly, all three of these errors literally say the same thing. However, the segfaults seem to be coming from different locations. In addition to these three screenshots I have provided, there is also a text copy of my log file, specifically "/var/log/messages" attached to this post. For convenience of both me & the receiver of this log file, I cleared the log file & then reproduced each bug, in the order I posted them. Please manage to find a fix to this. It may be more than one bug, & it's especially annoying to boot up Ubuntu, connect my mp3 player, try to change the name of the file, song, artist, or album, or even change file permissions & icons on other files, & to be barraged by error messages. It also renders the tag feature in tracker unusable, & makes it hard to organize media without having to go into Windows & change the tags. Please, do your best to fix this. I have Googled around for hours day after day to find the solution, but I'm considering this may be a serious bug under certain circumstances, as I have recently upgraded Ubuntu from Lucid to Maverick (and consequently, Tracker, as well). The log file points to the specific address of the segfaulting. Best regards & good luck fixing this!

I know that you guys volunteer, & code for little reward, but please try to help with this issue when you have some time. Tracker is also rendered unusable & I can't even search, & attempting to tag files is impossible. I also have to face errors every time I view a file's properties.

Update: Funny thing. I deleted all of the files in "/home/mike/.cache/tracker", & then tagging worked again. For the meantime... But the bug will reproduce itself after time passes. I wish I knew what was causing it specifically, as the terminal never shows a detailed error code.
