Bug Description

Binary package hint: tracker

In a fresh intrepid install tracker does not index the contents of openoffice files. I have even manually installed odt2txt package but it doesn't solve the problem.

After further investigation, it seems that tracker is trying to use o3read to read the contents of openoffice files. Since the package is not installed (and it is even not present in the repository), tracker fails to read the contents.

To solve the problem here I have installed the o3read package from feisty.

I see two ways to solve this bug:

1) Make tracker use odt2txt (and make it depend on it, or at least suggest it).
2) Bring o3read back (but I don't know what it was dropped from the repository in the first place)

Just to say that this bug is fixed in 9.04. Tracker is correctly using odt2txt now.
