Bug Description

Binary package hint: trac

I'm already using trac for a while, and it got updated to a newer version recently.

When I started using trac, I created a project and I added some milestones.

Now, I wanted to add a milestone to the project and to add or change some milestone descriptions.
When I try to add or edit a milestone and confirm with the 'Submit changes' button, nothing happens.

This is an example of how it can be reproduced:
- click the 'Roadmap' button
- click on the name of a milestone
- click the 'Edit milestone' button
- type/change something in the 'Description' text box or change
- press the 'Submit changes' button
- observe that the description is not added/changed on the page that is now visible
- click the 'Roadmap' button again
- observe that the description is not added/changed on this page as well
- observe that the description is not added/changed on the page that is now visible

I checked the permissions of the user I was using, and I had the TRAC_ADMIN permission, which should be enough I suppose. I added the MILESTONE_ADMIN permission to check if this would fix it, but it didn't (I guess TRAC_ADMIN includes the MILESTONE_ADMIN permission).

Note that I can succesfully do other tasks with trac. This includes closing tickets, changing their milestone value, adding comments, ...

Now I enabled logging and I watched the log file using 'tail -f' while reproducing the bug again.

After clicking the 'Submit changes' button, this is what appears in the log file (the log level is set to DEBUG):

2009-11-01 23:06:07,835 Trac[main] DEBUG: Dispatching <Request "POST u'/milestone/phase 3'">
2009-11-01 23:06:07,842 Trac[chrome] DEBUG: Prepare chrome data for request
2009-11-01 23:06:08,081 Trac[session] DEBUG: Retrieving session for ID u'bernardfrancois'
2009-11-01 23:06:08,135 Trac[main] DEBUG: 1655 unreachable objects found.

Tomorrow I'll continue working on the project I have in trac, and I'll probably try to change the milestone descriptions manually in the trac.db file using the sqlitebrowser tool.

This sounds like http://trac.edgewall.org/ticket/7876 which was fixed in Trac 0.11.3.

Changed in trac (Ubuntu):
status: New → Fix Committed
Changed in trac:
status: Unknown → Fix Released

I see this bug has been marked as 'Fix Released'. However, 0.11.1-2.1 is still the latest version in the ubuntu 9.04 universe repository. Does this mean it has only been fixed in ubuntu 9.10 (while the support period for 9.04 isn't over yet)?

@bernardfrancois-gmail: please, follow the SRU process, if you want this fixed in another version of Ubuntu

Ara,

What do you mean by 'SRU' process?
I'm not using trac for the moment, so I can't verify it any further.
