Bug Description

I completed the setup to watch TV via DVB-T with Totem, everything is correct with the channels.conf etc. One problem then is this: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-dvb-daemon/+bug/959838. The other problem: When I click onto a TV station to watch its program nothing happens; the screen stays black. But I recognize that some network traffic starts as soon as I start the program. So it seems to catch the DVB-T signal and transport it to somewhere, but it doesn't reach the screen of Totem.

Same for me. Totem doesn't work. mplayer works with "scan" generated channels.conf, but very very laggy.

Could you test if this problem exist in new totem 3.4 version? Totem 3.4 fixes lots of bugs, which exists in 3.0.1, which is in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.
You can install Totem 3.4.2 from official gnome3-team repository ( ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3 ), see https://launchpad.net/~gnome3-team/+archive/gnome3

Setup is OK, I can record and play afterward, but can't watch anything live in Totem.
Totem 3.01
Movie Player using GStreamer 0.10.36

With playback I get this error, but still I can view:
Python (v2.7) requires to install plugins to play files of the following types:
• private/teletext decoder
• application/x-mpegts-private-section decoder

I tested is with the PPA version (totem 3.4.3) and it doesn't work. You can see all the channels in the sidebar but totem won't play any. The screen just stays black.

Followup: from what I've gathered, this is not really a totem bug, but rather one in gstreamer itself.
