Bug Description

Hello,
I haven't seen for a duplicate of this bug when posting, so here it goes.

When I play a video at any part, except if it is paused, and then open another video which shows up in the same totem player window, the player hangs and eventually crashes.

I use Ubuntu 11.10
The videos that I use are H264 codec, 1280x720, 24fps

if any other information is needed, please ask

hello, I no longer use 11.10, although in 12.04 the problem persists
(as I figured, with hi res videos). Do I have use the same command?

Yes, using the apport-collect command will gather information about your current system and add it to this bug report. Using apport for reporting bugs is a good idea because it gives the developers a lot of information about the affected system.

I tried to reproduce this issue in Ubuntu 14.04 and I couldn't. It would be great if you could try it in the development version of Ubuntu (14.04) and see if you can still reproduce it. In case you can do it please mark the Status of the bug back to "new".

I will, just a note that this usually happens when overclicking the file (on touchpad) for large 1gb and up files.
