[12.04] Sound stops many times while playing an avi movie

Bug Description

I watched a .avi movie and many times, every 5-20 minutes, the sounds stoped and the video kept playing.

Not sure if it's the exact same thing, but this happens a lot for me when playing music (from quodlibet) as well.

Some more data points: this only started happening this week, and it occurs when I play sound through my internal (onboard) sound card, or through any of two different USB sound devices.

Oh and: pausing the music and pressing play again makes the sound start again.

I had this problem, a few times, in Precise in early Feb 2012, the time of the above comments.

A month later, now, the problem is gone, for me. No further comments here, either. Is anyone still seeing it? Or can we call it fixed?
