Bug Description

Even when viewing the Experience Ubuntu.ogg file, selecting a resize option from the 'fit window to movie' submenu doesn't work.

I've also noticed that every avi file I've played loads as being the incorrect size. Yes, 'Automatically resize the window..' is enabled. The fit window to movie submenu also does nothing in this case.

The files load as the correct size when viewed in VLC.

The patch upstream fixes this issue.

It removes the following two lines:

<property name="width_request">420</property>
<property name="height_request">315</property>

from /usr/share/totem/totem.glade, around line 2845.

Will this be backported? It is rather annoying. :)

Accepted into edgy-proposed. Per StableReleaseUpdates, please contact the QA team via Simon Law to verify that this bug has been fixed and that there are no regressions.

Tested the patch to fix the crasher, which it did. Also, it doesn't seem to have broken any of time-admin's functionality, which is good.

Ready to upload to -updates on the 29th.

Whoops. Commented on the wrong bug. But this patch is tested and works as well.

Approved.

I just tested totem-xine as well, which is in Edgy Universe.

It breaks not as badly, in that the Glade file merely enforces a minimum size of 420x315. The patched version in edgy-proposed makes totem-xine perform properly.

This is the first "Works for me", following the https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MOTU/Processes/SRU procedure.

Simon: why verification-motu-needed? totem-xine's source is in main.

I have decided that QA is just going to regression test all of the binaries for source packages in main.

Approved to go into -updates as of right now.

Thanks.

It's been a week since the previous message and the fixed version of totem (2.16.2-0ubuntu2) doesn't seem to have made it to edgy-updates yet.

ubuntu-sru needs to approve the upload, they probably didn't do yet
