Bug Description

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

LOCALMODLIBS is a macro used to link the python binary against libaries needed for the binary. It must not used to link extensions.

I'll work around this in python2.6 for now, but this should be fixed in the packages.

libical gedit eog epiphany-browser totem rhythmbox have the issue at least there, do you have any pointer on why they should not use it to explain to upstream when opening a bug?

Matthias Klose (doko) wrote :

as I did write:

"LOCALMODLIBS is a macro used to link the python binary against libraries needed for the binary"

You don't need an extension to link with all the libraries used for the interpreter.
