Bug Description

Error message follows:

"Totem could not play 'file:///home/mute/Desktop/wölper.mp4'.

Element doesn't implement handling of this stream. Please file a bug."

So here I am. I have good-bad-ugly-etc codecs installed so it should work.

Do you also have gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad-multiverse installed?
What happens when you play the file with
gst-launch playbin uri="file:///home/mute/Desktop/wölper.mp4"

please paste the output here if that fails to play, too

Ah my mistake. I was missing the bad-multiverse plugins. It's working now that I have them installed.

I would still say this is a bug but that the problem is the error message. It should report something like "Element does not implement handling of this stream. Maybe you need to install the codec plugins for mp4?" Telling me to report a bug is probably not the appropriate response.

Ok, I'll reject this one here then because better error messages when no plugin for handling that format is installed is already bug #18798.
