Just confirming it based on reading other threads regarding the same option. I don't know how to link but a basic search will show similar problems.

don't re open the bug just because. as stated in the previous comment that's a duplicate.2

Actually, DVD playback is undergoing major improvements at the moment, and we hope it will be working much better in Jaunty and later. This is why we can't really hope bugs will be fixed in Intrepid, or maybe via an update at some point. Thanks for reporting bugs, anyway!
