Totem plays dvds only if I open first the application from the menu, not if I right-click on the DVD icon the desktop. Dragonplayer plays without sound (I already checked the flashwave plugin for firefox, it's not that). Maybe a bugfix issue?

Totem plays only the dvd's menu, and only if I run the application from the menu first (no right-click on dvd icon). Dragonplayer plays without sound (I already checked the flashwave plugin for firefox, it's not that). Mplayer doesn't find the dvd at all. What's the matter? Maybe a bugfix issue?

Do you have libdvdread3 installed? If it's an encrypted DVD (most store-bought DVDs are), do you have libdvdcss2 from medibuntu.org installed? |

Yep, makes perfect sense. The xine backend has traditionally had better DVD support (I use it for that reason). For that reason, I'm pretty sure this is a duplicate. I'm looking for the master bug. |
