Bug Description

Binary package hint: totem

I tried installing a Teratec Cinergy DVB-T USB2 adapter on a Dell Latitude with Hardy installed. It is detected by the kernel and Totem, however if I select a channel from the channel list, it only shows a black picture and no sound. Also, the radio stations do not emit any sound.

(I have generated a channel list via w_scan as described in http://www.edafe.org/vdr/wscan.html)

Here is how the device is detected:

[ 2758.118061] usb 5-1: USB disconnect, address 5
[ 2758.623740] usb 5-1: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 8
[ 2758.662940] usb 5-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
[ 2758.670035] DVB: registering new adapter (TerraTec/qanu USB2.0 Highspeed DVB-T Receiver)
[ 2758.670744] input: TerraTec/qanu USB2.0 Highspeed DVB-T Receiver remote control as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.7/usb5/5-1/input/input12

What software could I possibly try? AFAIK there is only one Linux driver, and that one is contained in the kernel.

But the bug is still valid! Just because you haven't got the device doesn't mean this bug is invalid.

The answer to your question is: No.

Thus, I am reopening the bug as per comment by Pedro.

Hi all,

I can confirm this bug too. The cinergy terratec T2 works perfectly with kaffeine but in totem shows only a black screen (and its blue led is always off ).

Thanks

Enrico

Totem 2.30.0 now uses gnome-dvb-daemon to get DVB support, which should work
better than the builtin support we had before.

Therefore I am closing this bug. If this is still an issue for you with Ubuntu 10.04, please open a new bug.
