Thanks for your bug. What version of the package do you use? Do use use ffmpeg?
Does it happen on a specific video or all the avi ones? Can you get a backtrace
of the crash (the bug-buddy dialog to send the bug upstream has it)?

i'm using totem-gstreamer 1.0.1-ubuntu1. Package ffmpeg 3:0.cvs20050121-1ubuntu1
is installed. it seems not to be happening in all avi videos, you can check it
with this one: http://www.vjspain.com/videosLoop/improbablefilms/CabinaTlf.avi
or this one: http://www.vjspain.com/videosLoop/improbablefilms/CarnabyLondon.avi

no crash with the current 1.1.4 version, I'm closing the bug as FIXED. Feel free
to reopen if you get the issue again after updating the package.
