Totem-xine crashes on startup

I'm running Ubuntu 7.10, and my system is up to date as at Feb. 20, 2008, 9pm GMT+1.

I have an ATI x1600 with fglrx. Perhaps it has something to do with the problem?

I can't find any other bug with similar conditions as this one. I looked at the suggestions before filing this bug.

This bug exists, and I have found no adequate proof that it is a duplicate of some other bug. Please leave it open for someone with more skills than me to triage.

I reopened the bug because it's about different hardware (ATI) than bug #111257 (intel hardware) and reporter says it is not fixed
