Bug Description

Binary package hint: totem

When using Ion3 specifically, running Totem causes gnome-terminal fonts to change size. Possibly the system DPI is altered by Totem or was incorrect when Ion3 was started but Totem shouldn't cause this change.

Thank you for your bug. What version of Ubuntu do you use? Do you use totem-gstreamer or totem-xine? Is gnome-settings-daemon running before and after starting totem?

My bug is a bit sucky, I've been trying to go through a strace to see where it accesses the fonts but there is a lot of noise around Totem accessing the fonts. I'm using totem-xine on Ubuntu 7.04 "Feisty". Here is some more info.

Ahh it does appear that it's starting gnome-settings-daemon. Killing that takes the fonts back to normal. It appears as well in the strace to be started by Totem so I assume it's needed for it.

Perhaps then this bug is invalid. My Ion3 should probably start gnome-settings-daemon for me to use the gnome stuff without sudden changes, but this shouldn't be the standard for people who want to modify everything to not be gnome..
