Problem probably lies in hidpi scaling. Im using x2 dpi scaling factor.

I am using a Lenovo w540 with ubuntu gnome 14.04
my screen has a resolution of 2880 x 1620.

Just a note: the quarter-screen video occurs only when the Gnome scaling factor is set to 2. Setting the scaling factor to 3 (only integer scaling is valid) results in a one-ninth-screen video.

Ubuntu GNOME 14.04 LTS is no longer supported. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner.
