Bug Description

When playing a movie with totem (totem-xine), I turn on full screen mode (double click or "F").
There is no problem since I use the mouse and makes the bottom navigation bar appear.
When I move out the mouse from the bar, the part where the video plays disappear, unlike the others (borders).

To make the whole bar disappear, I press "F" twice.

This bug is particulary visible with 16/10 screens.

PS : I use Feisty.

Thank you for your bug. What videocard and driver do you use? Does it happen with totem-gstreamer?

The video cards used are GeForce 6 series (6200 Go PCIE and 6600 LE AGP8x)

I got the bug with the nvidia drivers (linux-restricted-modules-2.6.20(21 and 22)-generic with the nvidia-glx package.
Since I won't have my computers for some days, I can't confirm the bug with the vesa and nv drivers, but if I remember correctly, the same bug happened.

I never tried with totem-gstreamer, because I was unable to watch movies encoded with the x264 codec. I couldn't find any gstreamer-x264 package and got no help from totem (like when you insert a dvd for the first time)

I hope those infos will help you, and if it's not the case, just tell me and I'll try to complete my bug report as soon as I can.

PS : I wonder if the unability to watch "x264 movies" in totem-gstreamer is a bug, or simply due to a bad installation ?

You might need to install plugins package, totem-gstreamer with easy codec installation do that automatically for you now. If that doesn't work that's likely a wishlist to add some codecs. Could you try with the nv and totem-gstreamer if the fullscreen bug happens to be sure if it's due to the videodriver or something else?

I tried with totem-gstreamer with the nvidia et nv drivers. No bugs noticed (only the fact that after having downloaded the correct gstreamer packages advised by totem-gstreamer, I had to reload the soft).

However, the bug is always there when using the xine engine, using the nvidia or nv driver.

I used the latest version of totem (gutsy).

Hi Vivien
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with the development version of Ubuntu, Hardy Heron?

Thanks in advance.

Hi.
I just tried with totem using the gstreamer and xine engines.
It seems that the bug has been fixed since I don't have any problem now.

Have a nice day !
