Bug Description

I want to load external subtitles along the video file in totem/gstreamer, but
I did not found a way to do it.

1) Open location: file:///home/meee/path/to/file/video.avi#subtitle:video_cz.sub does not work
(and if would even work, typing long path manually is not the right way to open video, isn't it?)
2) autodetection for subtitle file video_cz.sub with video file video.avi does not work
3) there is no menu item to load the subtitles.

This really should be fixed ...by extending autodetection rules... or by adding appropriate menu item.

As of 2.19.2 there is a new totem plugin system according to
http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/desktop/2.19/2.19.2/NEWS
...so there could be subtitle loading plugin implemented that would not eventualy
confuse users...

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

I confirm that in Hardy alpha4 Totem can manually load external subtitle file from GUI.
I think this bug can be closed as fixed then.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, I am closing it because the bug has been fixed in the latest development version of Ubuntu - the Hardy Heron. It won't be fixed in previous versions of Ubuntu because the bug doesn't fit requirements for backporting. See https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuBackports for more information.
