Bug Description

Binary package hint: totem

Same or similar as bug #39164. I have Ubuntu 7.04. and all codecs installed, and have almost 100% found the exact trigger. Lets us say we have files High_noon.avi and High_noon.srt that is the movie and it's subtitles. When open it will crash with "internal data flow error". If you remove High_noon.srt the movie will play perfect BUT off course without subtitles. Its the titles!!!!!

Same problem to me. It seems like .sub subtitles work fine, the only problem being .srt.

same here except that .sub, .srt, .txt give the same error:

$ls
movie.avi movie.srt
$ totem movie.avi
** Message: Error: Internal data flow error.
gstbasesrc.c(1642): gst_base_src_loop (): /play/subtitle-bin/filesrc0:
streaming task paused, reason not-linked (-1)

$mv movie.srt movie&.srt
$totem movie.avi

works fine, but you cannot view the subtitles

It seems as if the bug is fixed. The thing is I've set up many
softwares but I don't know which one has fixed the bug

Yeah, I'm having the same problem.

media/300GB/movie_folder/MOVIE 1.avi
media/300GB/movie_folder/MOVIE 1.srt

If the sub file is the same name [but different extension, respectively] it causes Totem to crash with the "Internal data flow" error.

Zeppelinlg, do you think you installed the Totem Movie Player /w Xine backend and that fixed your problem?
