Bug Description

When dialing a number, the generated DTMF tones are way too loud. It should use the handset speaker instead of the real speaker to make that noise. Currently its so loud that everyone around can hear which number you're dialing :)

-------------UX comment--------------
The bug description already offers a desired solution. :)

which build on which device? rsalveti fixed this a few weeks ago and made the default volume much lower and max sound limited.

This still seems to be the case... On Krillin #56, the DTMF tones are still very loud. Dialing a number in public caused people staring at me several times already :)

That all depends on the volume you set for the alert role (the default one).

If you compare with Android, the max level is similar, but only if your main volume is at 100% (alert in our case).

By default DTMF is using 10% of the alert volume, so it's only loud if you let the alert at such high level.

I agree the tones are too loud, even if I set my ringtone to high, that's probably because the phone's in my pocket, or in my wife's bag. That doesn't mean that when I take it out, I need the tones to be as loud. Especially since they're only feedback, and you get tactile feedback for them as well.

summary: - DTMF tones when dialing use wrong speaker
+ DTMF tones too loud

FTR, I just tried with my old trusted N9, the tones there come out of both speakers, are static volume regardless of ringer volume, and silenced if the phone is in silence mode.

What is the fix here? DTMF tones are still loud enough that a person can recognize the number I'm dialing from about 100 meters of distance. Especially on arale.
