Tome substitutes "_" for "." while trying to open savegame

It might be possible that another problem is coupled with this one, but I am unable to open savegames created by tome.
Attempting to open a savegame from inside tome causes the program to crash completely. It substitutes "_" for "." when trying to open a savegame directly. Resuming gameplay is impossible this way. The problem might be caused by the German keyboard layout, used in terminal and X11.
