cannot synchronise with ubuntuone in spite of success...

registered and working account but Tomboy does not let me save registration of Tomboy with the server

it is strange - I can reach the ubuntuone web page but after registration successful I cannot save connection in Tomboy it does not let me save... grayed button?

Fwiw, Michael Terry just helped me to find a workaround. Its to use http instead of https in the ubuntuone url. That of course it not ideal as all the data transfer is unencrypted.

Ok, the workaroud seems to be to just edit the server field, he http/https seems to be not relevant. Editing it make the button sensitive again.

Michael is correct. You can delete and retype the trailing slash '/' of the address https://one.ubuntu.com/notes/ in the server field to make the 'Save' button clickable.
