Bug Description

Binary package hint: tomboy

ubuntu 64bit hardy tomboy version 0.10.0-1

Previously in tomboy starting a line with a dash ( - ) and then pressing enter would activate bulleting and turn the dash into a bullet. Now this simply leaves the dash and goes to a new line.

At the very least there should be a keyboard shortcut to activate bulleting.

Currently to activate bulleting you have to select the text icon and select bulleting in the drop down menu. This requires using the mouse and adds a significant amount of time to taking notes.

The bulleting features in tomboy in particular this on are the main reason I started using it, as they make it very easy to take notes on lectures.

Thanks for reporting. I'm unable to reproduce this on 0.10.0-1 in Hardy. Do you have "Enable auto-bulleted lists" enabled in the preferences?

I have checked the box next to "Enable auto-bulleted lists". I just disabled
it and enabled it again to no effect. Is there anything I can do to diagnose
this?

I am wrong there is some auto bulleting working. If you press "-" then "space" and finally "enter" it will start bulleting. This is the only way I have found to start bullets automatically. Maybe there are reasons agains this but for me I would like to have bullets start for more key combos.

Such as:
"-" "enter" (without the space)
"1" (or other numbers) "enter"
"1." "enter"
"1)" "enter"

Also a keyboard shortcut for bulleting would save most of the bulleting hassle.

The space after the dash has always been required, I believe. Also, I
think one would usually use that first bullet, so "- first!" An
asterisk instead of a dash also works. I agree on opening a wishlist
bug for numerical or alphabetic numbering though.

OK so this bug is invalid. Although it has been helpful for to me learn more tomboy formatting. It may be a good idea for somebody to file a wishlist bug for sequential bulleting such as numerical or alphabetic. I am marking it invalid feel free to reopen it if you disagree.
