Bug Description

In Ubuntu 8.10 64 Bit, all applications I use properly connect now to pulseaudio. I can listen to banshee music at the same time as watching a youtube flash movie.

But there is still one application which does not connect to pulseaudio, timidity. I use tuxguitar with timidity, both installed from the ubuntu repository, when a flash movie is played or a song with banshee, there is no sound in tuxguitar.

When I remove pulseaudio and set the sound to ALSA, everything works fine and i can get sound in tuxguitar at the same time as listening to music trough banshee.

This issue is still in Ubuntu Jaunty.

Play a Guitar Pro file throuh tuxguitar and then open a youtube movie, the youtube movie will be muted.

What do you mean?

btw, when I start timidity with the command "timidity -iA -Os" the problems are solved (I can listen to different things at the same time, tuxguitar files + youtube for example), but the latency is bad in tuxguitar, so that the notes aren't highlightened and played at the same time. This is kind of annoying for guitar players.

When timidity is started via the init.d script, the latency is perfect, but I have the described problems.

Symptoms are duplicates of bug 210472, and the problem isn't with Pulseaudio, since it's working according to spec, it seems to be Timidity which needs to be updated. Thanks for bringing this bug to the forefront, though. If devs need more info, they can turn to you in the other bug report as well.
