Bug Description
Clean install of Ubuntu 24.04 server on a Raspberry Pi 5. I used the rpi-imager to prepare the sdcard, configured my user and the wifi. It's a headless non-gui install. CLI only.
After booting up and verifying the system, I shrinked the part2 to make room for part3 (also ext4).
installed timeshift using apt
Then edited fstab and the /etc/timeshift/
created a backup. installed some package.
Tied to restore the backup.
It failed after answering no to grub2 re-install (seg fault)
Tried answering yes to grub2 reinstall after selecting (any) destination it segfaulted again.
After apt update, and upgrade. tried again; the result is the same.
Earlier I tried Ubuntu 25.04 server, Ubuntu 24.10 server and raspbian 64. timeshift segfaulted there as well the same way.
It seems to me that timeshift has a problem with raspberry pi 5 or with the cli operation.
