I'm not sure this is a PPC specific issue.... I found a bug report in Debian that *could* be describing this problem, but I'm not sure. Does the solution described there work for you ? http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=336013

i think it's not the same.
i can not launch tilda at all, includind access to the configuration wizard.
but it's maybe not a specific ppc issue.. can somedy on x86 and/or
AMD_64 try?
